Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Fes. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture. Continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where you may encounter Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
After lunch in Midelt, drive through the spectacular Ziz Valley with its endless palm groves before arriving in Merzouga. Meet your camel caravan and enjoy a memorable sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon reaching your desert camp, settle into your tent, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and spend the evening around the campfire with Berber music beneath the stars.
Overnight: Sahara Desert Camp
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise before breakfast. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and continue to the traditional market town of Rissani before heading toward Todra Gorge.
Enjoy time to walk through the spectacular canyon with its towering cliffs before continuing along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Valley. Admire the incredible rock formations and winding mountain roads before checking into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
